The Anki Remote 2 does exactly what is advertised. It is a tool that helps improve the efficiency and quality of your studying. While I don't need to use the remote for all my classes the remote is helpful when I need to memorize information for a longer term goal. If used correctly the remote can truly be used anywhere to help you study and succeed in the topic of study.

This remote solves most issues that come with the cheaper alternatives which is the ease of connection. Connecting with this remote literally takes a second or two and is reliable without being too fickle. Buttons work well, it is relatively quiet, and it is comfortable to hold for a long time. I've used it for thousand card sessions and it really, really helps with staying comfortable and engaged. This also works well as a youtube remote as well! I used it to pause, move through, and resume MCAT videos while indoor cycling.

Some things I think could be improved:
- The wrist strap develops some nicks and tears with regular use. While it has't snapped on me, I worry that the rubber material used isn't holding up.
- I wish there was a way to read the battery percentage.

Otherwise, this is an amazing remote and definitely helped with my MCAT and general university studies.

I love my Anki remote, I can do Ankis in less time compared to before when it took more time and my hand doesn't get as tired anymore.

This remote has been very helpful to me in my MCAT studying for the ANKI cards associated with the content on the test. Makes it so much easier to go through hundreds of flashcards a day. I would highly recommend to anyone who is studying for the MCAT or any exam with lots of flashcards that need to be reviewed on ANKI.

Absolutely love my new Anki Remote 2.0! It makes clicking through an anki deck so much faster and smoother- it actually feels fun! After a long day on clinical rotations, it’s such a great way to get motivated again. Super easy to set up and link with Anki. Totally worth it if you’re looking to make studying more enjoyable and efficient!

When I first got my Anki Remote, I really didn't expect it to make that much of a difference - I figured I could probably bring my laptop with me while I was walking on the treadmill and flip through some extra cards that way without having to hit the space bar and dragging my cursor to Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. This remote has genuinely changed my entire Anki experience, and I truly don't know how I was effectively studying for any of my exams before I bought it (and I don't want to go back). I used to go through 200-300 cards a day max (using Anki for maybe 2-3 hours), and every time I saw people talk about how they would power through 500+ cards to study for boards, I was super overwhelmed and confused as to how they were able to go through so many cards. I was pretty skeptical when I got my Anki remote too because I had purchased a few of the popular dupes off of Amazon, but I had issues with reconnecting and setting them up almost every time I had to use them, and then I found myself forgetting which button corresponded to what because the layout was not very straightforward. This Anki remote was very easy to set up and I've had no problems connecting it to my laptop after the setup was complete, which was a major issue I had with some of the other remotes I purchased off of Amazon. Every time I sit down to do my daily Anki cards now, in 2-3 hours, I've completed almost 500 cards (for example, today, my stats were 212 cards in 51.05 minutes with an average of 14.45s/card). The charging on this remote is crazy too - I use my remote anywhere from 3-5 times a week and I've only had to charge it once or twice in the last two months. I was honestly so blown away with how much material I was learning and retaining, and yes, a part of that has to do with the Anki spacing setup, but I think this remote really took the effectiveness that Anki can have on memorization to the highest potential - I didn't realize how much I was actually capable of memorizing until I experienced the convenience of the remote.The buttons are very easy, and if you forget, there's a visual image in Anki that you can pull up that shows you exactly what buttons correspond to what settings directly rather than having to re-experiment every time! On top of that, it's super small and easy to carry around, and I bought little stickers to personalize my remote with (as a med student, it's the little things that keep us going haha). This has got to be one of the best purchases I've made since I heavily depend on Anki, and if you're an avid Anki user as well, don't wait to make the purchase!

Pros:
- Saves sooo much time compared to using Anki flashcards through keyboard (we already know how little time we have already as medical students...)
- Customizable buttons
- Easy set up
- Small size so you can carry anywhere anytime (white coat, pant pocket, shirt pocket, purse, etc.)
- Lasts longer than the regular Anki remotes (less charging yayyy)

Cons:
- micro-USB charging (not USB-C charging) *However there is news of USB-C charging is coming soon which would be game changer

Overall: You don't' obviously NEED a remote to study and excel in medical school or any other school programs. However, if you do use ANKI and do want to save a lot of time, then I HIGHLY recommend getting the Anki remote. Compared to when I did not have my Anki remote, using my Anki remote has saved me about 1+ hours day. It may not seem much, but it adds overtime. Plus 1+ hours saved a day can be allocated to sleep, play, activities, etc.

I use my remote every day and I have had no problems. It functions well and never disconnects. It is well-made and the blue color is beautiful!
